Responsibilities
- Manage incoming communications, including phone calls and emails, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of departmental documents and files.
- Assist the department head with scheduling meetings and preparing presentation materials.
- Process incoming applications and maintain filing systems in both digital and physical formats.
- Provide general information to the public and visitors regarding departmental procedures and hours of operation.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Strong typing skills with the ability to maintain accuracy at high speeds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening as required by city policy.
