Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Provide Tier 2 support for hardware, software, and network connectivity problems for government employees.
- User Support: Assist staff with technical inquiries, password resets, and software installations via phone and in-person.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of technical issues, resolutions, and system configurations in the ticketing system.
- Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and asset tagging for computers, printers, and peripherals.
- Network Support: Assist in monitoring network performance and troubleshooting connectivity issues within the office environment.
- Security Compliance: Ensure devices are compliant with District security policies and update antivirus software as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; High School diploma with equivalent technical certification (A+, Network+) is acceptable.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in IT support or help desk environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Availability: Must be available to work a part-time schedule, potentially including some evenings or weekends as needed.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a District of Columbia government background check and fingerprinting is required.
