Responsibilities
- Review and process pension benefit applications and calculations with precision and adherence to state regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to current and retired members regarding their pension inquiries and account status.
- Conduct research and analysis of state pension regulations, compliance requirements, and actuarial data.
- Maintain and update member records and financial data within our secure internal databases.
- Assist in the preparation of statistical reports, memos, and presentations for state oversight committees and leadership.
- Collaborate effectively with the payroll, HR, and actuarial departments to ensure seamless data integration.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in benefit calculations promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or government finance is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with complex financial data and numbers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions.
- Must be able to work a flexible part-time schedule and commit to the duration of the engagement.
