Responsibilities
- Process pension applications and benefit calculations with meticulous attention to detail
- Advise public employees on retirement plan options, eligibility requirements, and distribution methods
- Maintain accurate participant records in compliance with ERISA and state regulations
- Coordinate with government agencies to verify employment history and service credits
- Prepare quarterly reports for the retirement board and regulatory authorities
- Conduct outreach sessions to educate employees about retirement planning
- Assist in annual benefit statement generation and distribution
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of pension administration or benefits experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and pension management software
- Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and qualified retirement plans
- Excellent verbal communication skills for participant consultations
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality and discretion
- Valid Nebraska driver's license for occasional travel to satellite offices
