Responsibilities
- Review and process pension benefit applications and eligibility documentation to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Provide clear, professional, and empathetic communication to retirees and beneficiaries regarding pension inquiries and plan details.
- Perform complex data entry and reconciliation tasks using Excel and pension management systems.
- Monitor compliance with New York State Public Pension Law and federal reporting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly pension distribution reports.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal employee data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in pension administration, human resources, or government customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Strong understanding of retirement plan structures, 401(k) plans, or defined benefit plans is highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
