Responsibilities
- Manage and process incoming inquiries regarding pension eligibility, benefits calculations, and retirement options with high accuracy and professionalism.
- Process and review pension applications and benefit requests, ensuring strict compliance with state regulations and internal policies.
- Utilize state-specific pension software and HRIS systems to update employee records and track critical retirement milestones.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly pension disbursement reports, assisting in the auditing and reconciliation of accounts.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources and Finance departments to resolve complex benefit discrepancies and resolve employee issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and state employees via phone, email, and in-person consultations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, payroll processing, or government benefits management.
- Strong knowledge of Georgia state retirement systems and federal pension laws (FERS/Social Security).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential for data analysis) and state-specific HRIS systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail in a high-volume environment.
