Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD systems with 100% accuracy
- Dispatch appropriate police units and resources during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate with multiple agencies including Fire, EMS, and neighboring jurisdictions
- Provide clear, concise information to officers in the field during high-stress situations
- Operate radio equipment, telephones, and computer systems simultaneously
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA/GDPR compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass thorough background investigation and polygraph examination
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multi-tasking capabilities under extreme pressure
