Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police units with accurate location and situation details
- Provide life-saving instructions via emergency medical protocols
- Maintain precise radio communication with field units
- Document incident reports and maintain digital records
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate NCIC/NCIC database for warrant/background checks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (40 WPM)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly
- Must be 18+ years old and US citizen
- Valid NC driver's license
- No felony convictions
