Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public via telephone and radio.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) units to incident locations.
- Enter and update incident information into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems accurately and rapidly.
- Provide critical emergency medical dispatch (EMD) instructions to callers in life-threatening situations.
- Maintain constant situational awareness and radio discipline during high-volume periods.
- Perform clerical duties including report preparation and case file management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate clearly under pressure.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, polygraph, and medical examination.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred) are a significant plus.
