Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Operate radio systems to dispatch police units and coordinate with other agencies
- Maintain accurate digital logs using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Monitor surveillance feeds and alarm systems for city facilities
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Participate in continuous training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to pass criminal background check and psychological evaluation
- Minimum 35 WPM typing proficiency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking and de-escalation skills
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
