Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD systems
- Maintain radio communication protocols during emergencies
- Enter/update critical incident data in RMS databases
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Document all communications per department policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer proficiency with typing 40+ WPM
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Valid Kansas driver's license
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Pass entry-level civil service exam
- No felony convictions
