Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Accurately dispatch police, fire, and EMS resources using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident updates
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during complex emergency scenarios
- Operate radio equipment and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA/GDPR compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Indiana driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm during high-stress emergency situations
- Must be available to work rotating shifts/nights/weekends
