Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy.
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems to coordinate police, fire, and medical responses.
- Accurately relay critical information to responding law enforcement and emergency personnel.
- Maintain detailed logs and records of all dispatch activities and radio traffic.
- Assist in training new dispatchers and monitoring trainee performance during the probationary period.
- Monitor police radio frequencies for suspicious activity and unit status updates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers and data entry.
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
