Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative/qualitative research methods
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and executive summaries for senior leadership
- Coordinate with state agencies to gather implementation data and stakeholder feedback
- Monitor federal policy developments affecting Illinois state operations
- Present findings through written reports and oral presentations to decision-makers
- Support public engagement initiatives through community outreach and stakeholder meetings
- Maintain accurate documentation of policy research and compliance records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 2+ years experience in policy analysis, government affairs, or research
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Excel) and statistical methods
- Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated report writing ability
- Knowledge of Illinois legislative process and state government structure
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Valid Illinois driver's license (for occasional travel to state facilities)
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass required background screening
