Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate digital and physical document archives according to county retention policies
- Process public record requests with strict adherence to Nebraska public records statutes
- Utilize county databases for document indexing, retrieval, and destruction coordination
- Assist in implementing document digitization and electronic records management systems
- Provide courteous, professional support to citizens and staff requesting records
- Perform regular audits of record inventories and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with IT department on records system upgrades and security protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year records management or administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management software
- Knowledge of Nebraska public records laws and retention schedules
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift 20 lbs and navigate record storage areas
