Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and advanced imaging technology to screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo for prohibited items
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and body scans according to TSA protocols
- Verify passenger identification documents and boarding passes for authenticity
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to potential threats with appropriate escalation
- Maintain detailed logs of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Ensure compliance with TSA Standard Operating Procedures and federal regulations
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn screening technologies
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on rotating shifts
