Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray technology and metal detectors
- Perform pat-down searches and explosive trace detection as required
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Maintain orderly checkpoint operations while enforcing TSA security protocols
- Identify and report suspicious items, activities, or security threats
- Provide excellent customer service to travelers during screening processes
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass a thorough background check and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Basic computer proficiency for checkpoint systems
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish fluency preferred)
- Must complete TSA-mandated training program
