Responsibilities
- Operate advanced X-ray screening equipment and walk-through metal detectors to identify prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Conduct thorough pat-downs and screening of passengers using body scanners, ensuring compliance with TSA security protocols.
- Interact professionally with passengers, providing clear instructions, answering inquiries, and de-escalating situations with courtesy and firmness.
- Maintain a vigilant watch over the security checkpoint area to detect any suspicious behavior or potential security threats.
- Document all screening activities and report any irregularities or equipment malfunctions immediately to the Supervising Officer.
- Adhere to all Federal Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety guidelines to maintain a secure environment.
- Assist in managing passenger flow to minimize wait times and ensure efficient checkpoint operations during peak hours.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a mandatory federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and a drug screen.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) and perform physical activities such as lifting bags and walking.
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stress situations.
