Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on luggage
- Conduct pat-down searches and bag inspections as authorized
- Verify identification and travel documents for compliance with TSA regulations
- Respond to security alerts and suspicious items following established protocols
- Maintain accurate records of screening activities and incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Provide excellent customer service to travelers during the screening process
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Valid state driver's license or government-issued photo ID
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for using screening equipment
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
