This flexible role offers meaningful part-time work (20 hours/week) with federal benefits eligibility, including health insurance and retirement plans. Responsibilities
- Assess veteran eligibility for VA healthcare, education, and disability benefits
- Process and verify benefit applications using VA systems (VBMS, VBA)
- Provide clear guidance on federal benefit programs and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and community partners to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with federal privacy regulations (HIPAA/VA)
- Support outreach initiatives connecting veterans to local resources
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or 2+ years of administrative/VA benefits experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and VA benefit systems
- Strong knowledge of federal veteran benefit programs (Chapter 31, 33, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and empathy
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
- Experience with case management or customer service in healthcare/government
