Responsibilities
- Manage federal pension plan enrollment, processing, and documentation for Long Beach-area employees
- Provide expert guidance on retirement benefits, survivor annuities, and Thrift Savings Plans (TSP)
- Conduct eligibility determinations for federal pension programs including CSRS and FERS
- Analyze complex pension cases involving divorce, disability, and survivorship scenarios
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops on retirement planning
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve pension-related inquiries and discrepancies
- Ensure strict compliance with OPM regulations and federal retirement laws
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or federal benefits management
- Deep knowledge of federal retirement systems (CSRS/FERS) and TSP regulations
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex pension scenarios
- Excellent communication abilities for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience with federal payroll systems (e.g., National Finance Center)
- Professional certification in retirement planning (e.g., QKA, CFP) highly desirable
