Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee the day-to-day operations of the City's pension plans
- Process member contributions, benefit calculations, and retirement distributions
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Colorado state statutes
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and actuarial documentation
- Manage member inquiries and provide pension counseling services
- Collaborate with auditors and external financial institutions
- Develop and implement plan amendments and policy updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- SPBC or QKA certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
- Proficiency with pension administration software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Colorado pension laws
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills for complex financial concepts
