Responsibilities
- Process retirement applications and calculate pension benefits using specialized software
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Illinois state pension laws
- Manage participant records, contributions, and distribution schedules
- Respond to complex pension inquiries from retirees and current employees
- Prepare monthly/quarterly compliance reports for regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with finance and HR teams on benefit plan optimization
- Conduct audits to verify data accuracy and procedural adherence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Illinois pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Benefitfocus, Oracle HCM)
- Strong analytical skills for benefit calculations and compliance auditing
- Excellent written/verbal communication for stakeholder interactions
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QPA) preferred
