Responsibilities
- Oversee pension fund operations, investments, and compliance with ERISA and Texas state regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and member inquiries with exceptional accuracy
- Develop and implement strategic pension plan improvements aligned with fiduciary best practices
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and HR teams to ensure regulatory compliance
- Generate comprehensive financial reports and actuarial projections for stakeholder review
- Lead member education workshops on retirement planning and benefit options
- Manage vendor relationships and audit processes for pension-related services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in public/government sector
- Deep expertise in ERISA, IRS 415(c) limits, and Texas pension regulations
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Northstar)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and forecasting
- Excellent communication abilities for complex benefit explanations
- SPHR, CEBS, or QPA certification highly desirable
- Ability to manage sensitive data with strict confidentiality standards
