Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and distribution requests
- Conduct annual actuarial valuations and compliance testing
- Develop educational materials for employees on retirement planning
- Collaborate with auditors, legal counsel, and investment advisors
- Maintain accurate participant records in SAP HR/Pension systems
- Analyze plan performance metrics and recommend improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years pension plan administration experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or ASPPA designation
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and CalPERS
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension administration software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written/verbal communication abilities
- Experience with public sector retirement systems
