Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans with precision, including benefit calculations, distributions, and record maintenance
- Ensure strict adherence to ERISA, IRS, and Texas state pension regulations
- Provide expert guidance to retirees and current employees regarding pension options and retirement planning
- Collaborate with investment teams to monitor fund performance and risk mitigation strategies
- Develop and implement process improvements for pension administration efficiency
- Prepare comprehensive reports for regulatory bodies and senior leadership
- Train staff on pension policies and compliance procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred
- Proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Benefitfocus)
- Deep understanding of ERISA, IRS 401(k), and Texas pension laws
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial details
- Strong communication abilities for explaining complex retirement concepts
- Experience working with state government or public sector entities
