Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans including eligibility calculations, benefit payments, and compliance reporting
- Advise state employees on retirement options, contribution strategies, and tax implications
- Ensure adherence to ERISA, IRS regulations, and Georgia state pension statutes
- Manage participant communications, workshops, and benefit enrollment processes
- Analyze financial data to forecast pension liabilities and recommend funding adjustments
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and legal teams on policy updates and compliance audits
- Maintain accurate participant records and generate regulatory reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and Georgia pension laws
- Proficiency in pension software (e.g., Millennium, Alight Solutions) and MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication skills for employee training and policy explanations
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred
- Ability to manage confidential data with strict compliance standards
