Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans including benefit calculations, retiree inquiries, and documentation processing
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Georgia state pension statutes
- Manage daily payroll processing for retirees and coordinate with state accounting systems
- Conduct periodic plan audits and prepare compliance reports for oversight agencies
- Develop and maintain participant communication materials explaining retirement benefits
- Collaborate with HR departments on employee enrollment and retirement planning initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or employee benefits management
- Proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, NBS)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and Georgia pension laws
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to manage sensitive financial data with confidentiality and discretion
