Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day administration of state pension plans including enrollment, distributions, and record-keeping
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pension regulations (ERISA, NM Statutes)
- Analyze fund performance and recommend investment strategy adjustments
- Develop and implement retirement education programs for state employees
- Collaborate with auditors and legal counsel for annual compliance reviews
- Prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Oversee vendor relationships and technology systems for plan administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration experience
- Proficiency in ERISA and retirement regulations compliance
- Strong analytical skills with experience in fund performance analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Albridge)
- Professional designation (e.g., CEBS, ASPA) preferred
- Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive financial data
