Responsibilities
- Manage complex pension fund administration including actuarial calculations, compliance reporting, and investment oversight
- Process retiree benefits, disability claims, and survivor benefits with precision and empathy
- Develop and maintain comprehensive pension plan documentation ensuring adherence to ERISA, IRS, and state regulations
- Collaborate with financial advisors, auditors, and legal counsel to optimize fund performance
- Conduct pension plan education workshops for employees and retirees
- Prepare annual financial statements and regulatory disclosures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 415/401(a) regulations, and Kansas pension statutes
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software and financial modeling tools
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in financial data management
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder education and complex benefit explanations
- CPA, CFA, or QPA certification highly desirable
