Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund disbursements and participant records with 99.9% accuracy
- Conduct quarterly compliance audits for ERISA and Tennessee retirement regulations
- Process retirement applications and benefit adjustments within 48-hour SLA
- Develop annual actuarial reports for state legislature review
- Train state employees on pension plan options via weekend workshops
- Collaborate with IT team to enhance pension management system security
- Prepare monthly financial statements for the State Treasurer's office
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration required
- 5+ years pension administration experience with government entities
- SP/QPA or CEBS certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension management software (e.g., Millennium)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Tennessee retirement statutes
- Exceptional analytical skills for complex benefit calculations
- Weekend availability (Saturday/Sunday) with weekday flexibility for meetings
- Valid Tennessee driver's license for occasional travel to regional offices
