Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans for 500,000+ state employees and retirees
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and survivorship claims
- Conduct annual valuations and actuarial modeling for multi-billion dollar portfolios
- Coordinate with investment teams and third-party administrators
- Develop compliance reports for NC General Assembly and oversight committees
- Train HR partners on pension regulations and retirement options
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 5+ years of pension administration experience
- SPBC, QPA, or CEBS certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRC 415, and NC General Statute 147-84
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, AdminSoft)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory compliance
