Responsibilities
- Manage pension benefit calculations and distributions for state retirees
- Provide comprehensive retirement planning guidance to current employees and retirees
- Ensure strict compliance with Texas Government Code and ERISA regulations
- Process retirement applications and documentation with 100% accuracy
- Collaborate with HR departments across state agencies to coordinate retirement transitions
- Generate benefit statements and conduct annual pension plan audits
- Develop educational materials on retirement planning for state employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of retirement plan regulations (ERISA, IRC 401(a), Texas Government Code)
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, BenefitFocus)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex retirement concepts
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA, or CFP) preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish required for El Paso position
