Responsibilities
- Manage daily pension plan operations including benefit calculations, disbursements, and record maintenance
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas state pension laws
- Process retirement applications, conduct eligibility verifications, and resolve complex benefit inquiries
- Collaborate with finance and HR departments to integrate pension data with HRIS systems
- Prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders including actuarial valuations and financial statements
- Develop and deliver educational workshops for employees nearing retirement
- Monitor plan investments and coordinate with external fund managers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension plan administration or benefits management
- Proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Albridge)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Texas pension statutes
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to communicate complex pension concepts to diverse stakeholders
