Responsibilities
- Manage and administer defined benefit pension plans for state employees
- Process retirement applications and ensure compliance with NY State Retirement and Social Security Law
- Conduct benefit calculations and provide accurate financial projections
- Collaborate with auditors and regulatory agencies for compliance reviews
- Develop and implement pension plan policies and procedures
- Train HR staff and employees on retirement benefits and enrollment
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and NY pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle)
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or SHRM-CP preferred
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
