Join the City of El Paso's Finance Department as a Pension Plan Administrator. We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage our municipal pension plans, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and delivering retirement security to our valued employees. Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans including contribution calculations, benefit projections, and retirement processing
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas state pension laws
- Prepare annual actuarial valuations and financial statements for pension funds
- Manage participant communications regarding plan features, eligibility, and retirement options
- Collaborate with external auditors, investment advisors, and legal counsel
- Develop and implement pension plan policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in public/government sector
- SPBC or QKA certification strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Texas pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, AdminSoft)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder engagement
