Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan enrollment, contributions, and distribution processes
- Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations (ERISA, CalPERS standards)
- Manage participant communications and retirement counseling sessions
- Analyze financial data and prepare annual actuarial reports
- Coordinate with external vendors and auditors for plan oversight
- Maintain accurate participant records using state HRIS systems
- Develop educational materials for retirement planning workshops
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and California pension regulations
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and data analysis tools (Excel, SQL)
- Excellent communication skills for participant interactions
- FINRA Series 65 or 66 certification preferred
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Experience with public sector retirement plans highly valued
