Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for state employees including enrollment, distributions, and compliance
- Manage retirement fund investments and financial reporting
- Develop and implement pension policy updates in alignment with federal regulations
- Provide expert guidance to employees on retirement planning and benefits
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Analyze pension fund performance and recommend strategic adjustments
- Lead cross-departmental retirement benefit initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in pension fund management or public sector finance
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Colorado pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Aladdin, BlackRock)
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
