Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund investments and portfolio performance analysis
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and California Pension Codes
- Process retirement applications and member benefit calculations
- Develop financial projections and actuarial reporting documents
- Coordinate with external auditors and legal counsel for compliance reviews
- Train department staff on pension policy updates and procedural changes
- Respond to member inquiries regarding retirement benefits and options
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of retirement plan regulations (ERISA, IRS 401(a), 457 plans)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension administration software
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Certified Public Pension Professional (CPP) preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Excellent communication skills for complex policy explanations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
