Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize pension plans for 10,000+ government employees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas state laws
- Process retiree applications, benefit distributions, and plan amendments
- Conduct financial modeling and actuarial reporting for fund sustainability
- Manage employee inquiries through multi-channel support systems
- Collaborate with finance and HR departments on strategic pension initiatives
- Prepare annual reports for city council and regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, BenefitFocus)
- Deep knowledge of federal/state pension regulations and fiduciary responsibilities
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to complex financial details
