Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefit payments accurately
- Conduct eligibility determinations and member record maintenance
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for regulatory filings
- Respond to member inquiries regarding pension benefits and plan provisions
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
- Develop educational materials for plan participants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas state pension laws
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interactions
