Responsibilities
- Administer city pension plans ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations (ERISA, IRS codes)
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursements accurately
- Conduct employee outreach and educational seminars on retirement planning
- Maintain precise pension databases and financial records
- Collaborate with auditors and legal teams for regulatory compliance
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city council and stakeholders
- Develop and update pension policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and pension governance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, HRIS systems, and financial software
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or similar designation preferred
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive confidential information
- Clear communication skills for employee training and reporting
