Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund administration including enrollment, contribution processing, and benefit calculations
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and California state pension laws
- Process retirement applications and coordinate with retirees on benefit distributions
- Conduct annual valuations and prepare comprehensive financial reports
- Collaborate with auditors and investment committees on compliance matters
- Develop educational materials for employees regarding retirement planning
- Maintain accurate participant records using specialized pension software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in pension plan administration or benefits management
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and California pension codes
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Albridge)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation strongly preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Experience with public sector retirement systems highly advantageous
- Ability to handle confidential data with strict compliance standards
