Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans including retirement, disability, and survivor benefits
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (ERISA, IRS) and Colorado state statutes
- Process benefit calculations, distributions, and member account maintenance
- Conduct audits and reconcile plan assets with external custodians
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for plan participants
- Collaborate with finance and HR teams on plan optimization projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Colorado pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Benefitfocus)
- Professional designation (CEBS, QPA, or similar) preferred
- Experience with public sector pension plans highly desirable
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with absolute discretion
