Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, disbursements, and compliance with government regulations
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefits using specialized software
- Conduct audits and financial reporting to ensure fiduciary accuracy
- Develop educational materials for members on retirement planning options
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams for cross-departmental alignment
- Respond to member inquiries regarding pension policies and procedures
- Stay updated on federal/state pension laws and implement regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience in government sector
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and California pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Millennium, BenefitFocus)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
