Responsibilities
- Process pension applications and benefit calculations with 99.9% accuracy
- Advise government retirees on pension options, survivor benefits, and tax implications
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Minnesota state pension regulations
- Manage participant records using SAP HR and proprietary pension software
- Collaborate with HR departments across state agencies for seamless transitions
- Conduct quarterly audits of pension disbursements and documentation
- Develop training materials for new retirees and agency HR staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or retirement benefits experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS Code 401(a), and Minnesota Statutes 353-356
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAP HR, and pension management software
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Superior communication skills for explaining complex pension concepts
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background clearance
