Responsibilities
- Analyze and administer pension benefit calculations for diverse retirement plans
- Conduct financial modeling to assess funding adequacy and long-term liability projections
- Ensure strict adherence to California Government Code and ERISA regulations
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve retirement eligibility disputes
- Prepare comprehensive reports for legislative oversight and stakeholder communications
- Implement process improvements for benefit enrollment and payout systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration or benefits analysis experience
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and pension administration software (e.g., Millennium)
- Strong understanding of defined benefit plan structures and actuarial concepts
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or equivalent designation preferred
- Ability to interpret complex state legislation and regulatory changes
