Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, eligibility verification, and benefit calculations for federal employees
- Process retirement applications and coordinate with finance departments for accurate disbursements
- Provide expert guidance on pension regulations, Thrift Savings Plans (TSP), and survivor benefits
- Prepare detailed compliance reports and audit documentation for federal oversight agencies
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for pre-retirement planning
- Maintain secure digital records and ensure adherence to federal privacy regulations (HIPAA/PII)
- Collaborate with HR teams to resolve complex pension-related inquiries and disputes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or federal finance
- Proficiency with federal pension systems (e.g., FERS, CSRS) and TSP regulations
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or SHRM-CP designation preferred
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS Code 401(a), and OPM retirement guidelines
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to complex financial calculations
- Strong written/verbal communication abilities for stakeholder education
- Ability to handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality and ethical standards
