Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize multi-million dollar pension portfolios in compliance with ERISA and California state regulations
- Conduct annual valuations and actuarial studies to ensure fund sustainability
- Develop retirement plan materials and conduct educational workshops for employees and retirees
- Collaborate with investment advisors to monitor fund performance and adjust strategies
- Manage pension disbursement processes and resolve participant inquiries
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city council and regulatory bodies
- Implement system upgrades to enhance pension administration efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or retirement fund management experience
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA, or CFA) strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and CalPERS standards
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, ProAdmin)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to complex financial details
- Clear communication ability for presenting technical information to diverse audiences
