Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans including eligibility verification, benefit calculations, and retirement counseling
- Prepare and analyze actuarial reports, financial statements, and compliance documentation
- Manage participant inquiries and resolve complex pension-related issues with empathy and precision
- Collaborate with investment teams to monitor fund performance and asset allocation strategies
- Ensure adherence to IRS, DOL, and CalPERS regulations through rigorous compliance audits
- Develop educational materials for retirees and active employees regarding pension options
- Lead system upgrades for pension administration software and data security protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and California pension laws
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Milliman)
- Advanced Excel skills with data visualization capabilities
- Valid California CPA or CFA designation preferred
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
